Title: Interesting Thriller
Review: M. Night Shyamalan is back! An engrossing thriller, with the typical turns expected by the director. The cast is really good with Josh Hartnett delivering an outstanding performance as the psychopath, being charming one moment and cold killer the next. While watching the movie, I kept finding “holes” in the plot; they are explained, without giving away the plot.It was also great to see Hayley Mills again. For my generation, she was one of our heart throbs.Another surprise was Saleka Night Schyamalan in an important role. When I saw her name, I’m thinking”nepotism” but her singing and performance provide the backdrop of the story. Even though I’m not too in to contemporary pop, I was pleasantly surprised to discover she is a talented singer. And a pretty good actress, too. When I read the backstory on how the movie came together it all made sense. While this movie might never be rated up there with “Silence of the Lambs” or “Psycho,” I believe this is a solid thriller that delivers in entertaining – which is what movies are primarily supposed to be about, I think.

Title: Ready for Part II
Review: I was excited about this one from the beginning and I wasn’t disappointed! I pretty much like everything by Shyamalan and this one made me feel like I was at a concert for real. The lighting, the atmosphere, the music…it’s a whole vibe and really serves to stress the mystique of the film.Josh Hartnett is the man! He did such a good job capturing what the serial killer appears to be on the surface. How manipulative, deceptive, and cunning they are. Not to mention very good with words and winning people over, playing the role of the stand-up, caring person. I loved the father-daughter relationship and his chemistry with Ariel Donoghue.I had no idea Shyamalan’s daughter was a singer–and a darn good one. I enjoyed all of her songs, especially “Divine,” “Hiding,” “Liar,” “Save Me,” and “Where Did She Go”. When you study the lyrics, I think they are a perfect representation of Cooper’s character and his life.I understand the negative reviews too. Like many movies, at times the script was weak and some parts were just, like, what? Also, I feel like Saleka’s acting could have been better. However, I think people are missing the point. Yes, it’s unrealistic how Cooper was able to dodge just about every bullet (literally), but that’s the point–people like him walk amongst us every day and we don’t even know it, we don’t pay attention, and they are able to just slip under the radar, undetected. That’s why in real life we are always so shocked when we find out whoddunit.I believe Trap has something important to say. It is one of my new favorites by far, and you better believe I am ready for Part II!

Title: I felt Trapped and I love it.
Review: By now most people have a love it or hate it view on Shyamalan’s movies. I always love each and every one of his films so I am somewhat biased. This is a solid movie with a few minor “twists” that only adds to the plot. I forgot how good an actor Josh Hartnett is and he was at his best here as well as many of the supporting characters, including Shyamalan’s daughter, Saleka. Can’t wait for his next film.

Title: Josh Harnett still got it- watch it to support him & DASSITT lol
Review: The highlight of this movie was Josh Harnett! He’s still a hunk and a great actor. Love his facial expressions and how believable he is.NOW – what pissed me off was the fact that this was just all a promotion for M.Night’s daughter’s singing career. *side eye* (she’s the singer that the movie is based around) , great voice but horrible acting. Plus side- she does have some good songs lolOther than that, I wasn’t madddd at the movie but I also was like … the trailer made it look better than it was. I’m only pissed that I paid to rent it lol

Title: Best Shyamalan movie in awhile
Review: I’ve only seen a handful of movies in the theater in the last few years. This was one of them and one but this I really enjoyed. Even at his worst, M. Night Shyamalan’s has a sensitivity and attention to character detail that is very appealing. This isn’t as good as “The Sixth Sense” and “Signs” but I enjoyed this one more than any of the movies he’s made since those two. The plot of “Trap” is pretty far fetched, but the actors do a good job with the material and make you buy the relationships. Josh Hartnett as the main character and Ariel Donoghue as the star struck teen daughter were particularly good. I thought Saleka Night Shyamalan did a good job as the Lady Raven character too. I didn’t know she was the producer’s daughter until after I saw the movie.

Title: I really loved this film!
Review: This is one of Shyamalan’s stronger films. The plot was interesting, the acting was great, a few fun places of humor that had me laughing out loud, the music was catchy, and I think it was well done overall. I definitely recommend this one and it’s one I know I’ll watch again. Out of his films, I think I would rate this my new 3rd favorite M. Night story (only after Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense)!

Title: So good… and then so not
Review: I like everything M.Night. This was a great idea. Always excellent visuals. It’s entertaining for 3/4 of the show. There’s something about this one that makes me just wonder – were the past films I enjoyed as thoughtless? Despite being interesting, it never takes off. It’s interesting… there’s a bunch of things that kind of seem like the payoff is coming… it looks good. And, the last 1/4 is just one unrealistic thing after the next and you realize you wasted time on this dumb film.If you want suspense and terror, there’s got to be an ounce of reality. I lost all interest for the last 1/4 and just kept watching and losing and finally hit stop. Even worse than Knock at the Cabin. As with that one you have amazing visuals – amazing – and you see the places where suspense is supposed to be… and there’s none. And, you see the long-ending where it should have ended with the garage going down… and it goes on for 30 more minutes of nonsense.Old was kind of that way, too. You got all this rushed stuff in the final 1/4 to a dumb ending where a woman is now a spider? You could have built that up much more. This one is like that, just way dumber in the last 1/4. No payoffs of anything in the first part. Nothing that even builds over time.Wait for it to be free.
