Title: Terrific western of the 1950’s
Review: Joel McCrea & Dean Stockwell make a great western team. It is an excellent tale of a coming of age of a spoiled brat forced to go on the trail of a cattle drive. No bad guys, no shoot-em-up, no bar room brawls, no dead men shot in the streets, no fast draws – so what kind of western is this? A very feel good one with a good script and a great cast. If you like westerns, add this one to your collection.

Title: Okay, but too little action!
Review: The picture is crisp sharp, the sound super and the colors great. Joel McCrea is handsome and convincing like always, Dean Stockwell is a spoiled youth. Other fine actors are mean and bad Henry Brandon and my favorite cowboy of them all, Bob Steele. But alas! Brandon is firing a shot over the heads of some cattle and that is the only gunshot in the whole movie. Being a western there is a great lack of action.

Title: Cattle Drive
Review: Different to your normal type of western but Joel Mccrea is such a good actor he always plays a good part and taking a lost young lad [Dean Stockwell] and teaching him the hard work the cowboys do on there cattle drives with a little bit of persuasion he eventualy comes to understand and chips in and helps and enyoyble movie.
