PlayStation State of Play September 2024
Today, Sony held another PlayStation State of Play presentation, showing off upcoming games and making a few announcements. You can watch the entire State of Play below or read the highlights and watch individual trailers below that:
Astro Bot Add on
First came a free trailer Astro Bot The DLC is expected to arrive sometime in the fall and will include ten new bots and five new speedrun levels. I noticed that Helldivers 2 Space Marine, presumably one of the new bots. This isn't really my type of game, so the trailer doesn't do anything for me.
midnight walk
This was followed by a reveal trailer midnight walkA spooky-looking “dark fantasy adventure” for the PS5 and PlayStation VR2. The game was hand-sculpted in clay, and then 3-D scanned to create a stop-motion look, and the effect is fascinating. I'm impressed with its look and tone midnight walkPlus that spooky music; it could be fun. midnight walk Will be available in the spring of 2025, but you can wishlist it now.
the hell we are
This was followed by another action horror game, the hell we areIt also has some science-fiction elements. However, it is not as new as midnight walk, the hell we are This looks like it could be fun and atmospheric, with some scary looking monsters thrown in. I like the simplicity of the creatures with holes in their faces and torsos. the hell we are Coming to PS5 in 2025.
Metro Awakening VR
Based on a book by Dmitry Glukhovsky metro 2033, Metro Awakening VR This is another action horror game, this one is a first-person shooter/stealth game. This was a short trailer, but the game is appropriately disturbing. Metro Awakening VR Will be available on PlayStation VR 2 and other virtual reality headsets on November 7, 2024.
ArcheAge Chronicles
An action fantasy RPG, ArcheAge Chronicles sends you to explore a mysterious land and fight all sorts of monsters and other enemies. It looks pretty great, with fast-paced action and some great visuals. ArcheAge Chronicles Coming to PS5 in 2025, but you can wishlist it now.
Palworld
Next came The current bane of Nintendo's existence, Palworld. dearest “Pokemon Japanese developer PocketPlayer's “The One With Guns” game is now available for PS5, as announced in this quick teaser.
Lunar Remastered Collection
this is a remaster Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete And Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete From the PS1, with updated visuals and new features like widescreen mode. It's coming to PS5 in the spring of 2025. It's… not my thing.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge – Radical Reptiles
Radical Reptiles There's a new DLC for Shredder's RevengeWhich, to my shame, I haven't played yet, although it looks like a cracking game. Radical Reptiles Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa have been added as playable characters and a remixed soundtrack. It's available now.
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack
This is a DLC for the upcoming Sonic X Shadow Generation which features Keanu Reeves as the voice of The Shadow, with whom he will play In Sonic The Hedgehog 3Movie. Sonic X Shadow Generation Launches for PS4, PS5, and nearly every other console on October 25, 2024; Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack It will be included with the game's Digital Deluxe Edition and will be widely available on December 12.
Fantasian Neo Dimension
It's a turn-based RPG from Square Enix, coming to PS5 on December 5, 2024.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
This extended trailer gives a taste of the cinematics and combat of a game that many people are afraid of. It's clearly an attempt to counter the bad press the game has been getting (not from mainstream games journalists, of course, but from people gamers actually listen to). I like the look of the dragon they're fighting, and the combat looks good, but that one character being all over social media is weird. Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be available for PS5 on October 31, 2024, bringing forth a lot of trick-or-treat jokes that probably don't need them right now.
Alan Wake II: The Lake House
The Lake House There is an extension for Alan Wake IIAnd the trailer doesn't reveal much. It will be available in October.
Hitman: World of Assassination
in the next chapter Hitman Saga is coming to PlayStation VR 2 in December 2024. It puts you firmly in the shoes of Agent 47, allowing you to personally carry out assassinations. If you're interested in virtual reality, this looks like fun. (The guy vomiting with a dart in the head is pretty funny.)
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered
This was followed by an announcement trailer for a remaster of the first two soul Reaver game from the PS1. The graphics are definitely an upgrade, but it looks… not very good. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered Will be available for PS4 and PS5 on December 10, 2024.
Fear the spotlight
A horror survival game inspired by PS1 titles, Fear the spotlight It comes from Blumhouse Games. It's hard to say much about it from this trailer, but the release date is October 22, 2024, and it will be available for PS4 and PS5.
Minarets of Aghsaba
This open-world sandbox game is all about building an island. It sounds pretty boring to me, but if that's your thing, play it. Minarets of Aghsaba It will debut in Early Access for PS5 in November 2024.
Fortnite DualSense Controller
This is a new limited edition wireless controller Fortnite It has several designs that you can pre-order on October 3, 2024. Also, Lego Fortnite Split-screen mode will arrive in October 2024. Great, I think.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins
This new version of the action franchise will launch for PS5 in January 2025. I've never played any Dynasty Warriors game, but it looks great to me.
monster hunter wild
Again, I haven't played any of these games, so my perspective is limited. I like some of the monster designs, but otherwise, it doesn't seem like anything special to me. monster hunter wild will be available for PS5 on February 28, 2025, but you can pre-order it now. Pre-orders come with bonuses like the Guild Knight set of layered armor, the Hope Charm talisman, a digital mini art book, the Feline armor set and weapons, and a save the date bonus.
Lego Horizon Adventures
Lego version Horizon The game, it seems, is mostly for kids, with dance parties and silly humor Horizon The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with a roller coaster. Nice. Lego Horizon Adventures The game will be available on PS5 and PC from November 14, but pre-orders will start on October 3.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
The remaster promises “over ten hours of re-recorded dialogue” and “countless graphical improvements that bring the game to the same visual fidelity as Horizon Forbidden WestI think people have become wary of these remasters nowadays, and I hope that Horizon Fans will be waiting to see which features have been “modernized,” especially all those “re-recorded conversations.” Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be available for PS5 and PC on October 31, 2024, and gamers who already own the original version on PS4 will be able to upgrade to the PS5 remaster for $9.99.
Stellar Blade Update and Nier: Automata DLC
stellar blade It will feature updates, including a photo mode (to no one's surprise, Sony decided to show it off with Eve in buttoned-up business attire and a casual T-shirt and jeans outfit), as well as the game's original soundtrack on streaming services. Stellar Blade x Nier: AutomataCombining two action science-fiction game worlds, the game will be available in late 2024.
PS5 Chroma Collection
The PS5 will be available in a few different colours, which you can pre-order from October 3 if you're interested in that sort of thing.
PS5 Pro game lineup
This is a great reel of the games that will be available for the upscaled PS5 Pro, mainly because Sony wants to make this expensive upgrade seem more important than it really is. Good luck with that, folks.
Ghost of Yotei
this is the next part Ghost of TsushimaAnd after that amazing game, it had better be rock hard. This trailer doesn't reveal what it will be like, as it doesn't show any combat or stealth. It's just beautiful landscapes and samurai looking like samurai; the new protagonist is a woman, and she has a wolf companion, but since there's no gameplay other than traversing the island, it's hard to tell exactly how it will play out. Ghost of Tsushima was pretty great, so Sucker Punch has earned the benefit of the doubt, but it still has a lot of work to do. Ghost of Yotei Will be available on PS5 sometime in 2025.
And that's everything for the latest PlayStation State of Play. It was a mixed bag, with some great-looking stuff, some bad, and a lot of games that attracted no attention at all.
