Develop at Ubisoft Program is Only for Women and “Non-Binary” ApplicantsDevelop at Ubisoft Program is Only for Women and “Non-Binary” Applicants

As Ubisoft breaks even, it’s keeping its priorities on DEI. Star Wars Outlawswhich is currently Shame on everyone involved On many fronts, this year's Develop at Ubisoft has concluded, a mentorship program in which Ubisoft veterans teach college students or “new graduates with less than 2 years of experience” about video game development, specifically game design and programming. It sounds pretty cool and is pretty standard for a company, but Guidelines for Applicants reveal the actual purpose of the program. You are only allowed to apply for Develop at Ubisoft if you are a woman or “non-binary”, with the stated goal being to “build the most creative, diverse and inclusive teams” and “empower and support underrepresented genders”. Something tells me the “creative” part is not emphasized. I mean, check out Ubisoft's X post about Develop at Ubisoft:

I've seen the rainbow image less and less in Pride Month displays in department stores. Many people are asking if it's legal, and my guess is that it's probably not legal unless there's a similar program for heterosexual men (or “binary” men, I guess, though you'd only be half of the equation – these modern terms are meaningless), and I can bet all my assets that Ubisoft doesn't have such a program. It would be ridiculous if a heterosexual man sued them for discrimination over a development in a Ubisoft program, and the way the pendulum is swinging, I think that's entirely possible. In recent years, no one would have bothered because it wouldn't go anywhere – or, at least, that's what everyone assumed. But now, I think Ubisoft could very well lose that case in court. They might get a few wins in some small courts if they get crazy activist judges, but eventually, someone will rule that they can't discriminate based on gender. Imagine how angry they'd be if they were forced to open up the Develop at Ubisoft program to straight men; just reading the revised terms on the website would be enough.

Looking at the last few weeks – and, if you look at their stock history, the last few years – you have to wonder why Ubisoft is still concerned about DEI to such an extent. Maybe BlackRock/Vanguard/other hydra heads are giving them money, or maybe the Guillemots, who hold the biggest stake in the company, are so conscious that they don’t care about money (which is a luxury the already rich and crazy people sometimes afford), but for whatever reason, they’re making a move Dark Knight Throwing Joker and Fate into the fire to send a message. This isn't just speculation or behind-the-scenes corporate business; we can see Ubisof falling off a cliff in real time. Star Wars Outlaws This game is so bad that it's so bad that the media cries about evil gamers and their ideas sound even more hollow than usual. Watch Mauler show just how awful this game is Real bbc,

In addition – and surely because of this – Ubisoft's stock is still falling. few days backIt dropped to €13.24, which is $14.62, and that was enough for one of the company's major investors, AJ Investments, to write a letter demanding massive changes, including the removal of the management team, and even threatening a proxy war. Today, The stock price is even lower: €11.73, or $13.01. This is a company whose stock peaked above €85 ($94.24) in 2021; no wonder AJ Investments is pissed, and I suspect they're not alone. Apparently, the development schedule at Ubisoft was already scheduled Star Wars Outlaws Crashed, but I think they'd be so embarrassed that they'd either stop doing programs like this or at least stop patting themselves on the back for their inclusiveness while the rest of the world laughs at them. Or maybe they just want to look good in any way they can, even if it's only to themselves.
