Nerdrotic and The Critical Drinker Talk Snow White, Politics, and Gay James Bond on Piers MorganNerdrotic and The Critical Drinker Talk Snow White, Politics, and Gay James Bond on Piers Morgan

once again, critical drinker and from Gary Nerdrotic appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored to discuss Hollywood, and once againIt was a fun time, both for discussion and to see some folks from the geek corner of YouTube break into the mainstream. They were accompanied by commentator Esther Krakau, who is very funny in these segments, and comedian James Barr, who seems to be one of those “voice of the opposition” guests who come in to create some drama by calling everyone a racist or something, just as Ernest Owens was. Last Some? Times(He rolls his eyes before the discussion even starts, so you know how fun he is at parties.) You can catch Nerdrotic and Critical Drinker's latest appearance here Piers Morgan Uncensored Below:

The first subject was snow WhiteA live-action remake of Disney's animated film that built their movie business, snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.Specifically, they discussed removing it Dwarf replacement with CGI DwarvesThose effects look pretty bad, and the like-to-dislike ratio on the trailer — which Morgan describes as historically poor — shows that many people feel the same way. Drinker's point about the Uncanny Valley is accurate; they just don't look right next to a human actress. That's the downside of remaking animation as live-action: what works in one medium doesn't necessarily work in another. The dwarves would be fine if they were real dwarves, but The false outrage of Peter Dinklage It sure didn't happen, and the alternative idea looked like a school play directed by a crazy hippie teacher. Now, Disney is of course stuck with expensive CGI that doesn't look right, which was Gary's point. I'm not sure what Barr has to say, except that everything Disney does is right, and about his reasoning. rings of power It's weird because nobody likes it. Of course, he also thinks the original movie was sexist and anti-dwarf or something.

Next, they talked about whether James Bond should be gay. If you haven't seen this story, Daniel Craig, who is currently playing a gay man in a movie, was asked at a press conference whether James Bond, whom he has played (at least nominally) in five movies, should be gay. Craig rolled his eyes like a normal person, and the film's director told the press, “Guys, let's be the adults in the room for a moment.” Of course, more than half of normal everyone on the panel agrees that James Bond is not gay, and a gay James Bond wouldn't work. (Though I think it's ridiculous for Gerry to encourage EON to make a gay James Bond movie because they're probably not going to make a good movie in the near future, so they might as well put their modernization to the end and see what happens.) Barr is annoyed because he seems permanently annoyed, but his arguments sound funny (“Bond girl names are drag names;” whatever you say, dude); Even he thinks it's a stupid idea. And Drinker makes exactly the right argument, which I think is true of almost every “modernization”: once you start changing fundamental aspects of a character, he's no longer that character. Barr is still obnoxious, but I like how Gary and Drinker get to a point where they're clearly fed up with him. (“'It's dangerous to have affairs with women and smoke cigars.' What are you talking about?”)

Then, they discussed George Clooney's involvement in politics, specifically his changing view on Joe Biden's ability to run for or serve as President of the United States, which he was asked about by a reporter at the Venice Film Festival. Clooney called Biden's decision to drop out of the election “the most selfless thing anyone has done since George Washington.” Now, I don't want to get into the politics of this one or the merits of Clooney's statement. (You can probably make an educated guess about what I think.) But, if I may defend him for a moment, I don't think it was right to ask him about politics at the Venice Film Festival. This is why I've stopped watching the Oscars; politics has encroached upon the entertainment industry to such an extent that these events are no longer allowed to be about cinema, which is what they should be. And Clooney looked a little annoyed that he was asked this question, which I don't blame him for. The panel discussed the politics of it, and they raised the issue of celebrity political endorsements and lectures, etc. I think Esther Kraku is right that people shouldn't value actors' political opinions more than department store clerks (probably less, since the clerk's viewpoint is closer to yours, based on George Clooney's lifestyle). Surprisingly, Barr is somewhat more balanced this time and agrees that celebrities are different from the average person, although, of course, he takes aim at Trump. And that's fair, considering Piers was taking aim at Biden.

The last comment was about the band Oasis getting back together, which I don't care about and have no opinion on because I couldn't name a single song of theirs if you paid me to remember it. James Barr took the opportunity to accuse Gary of hating women because he doesn't like modern music. How does such a strict hall monitor slip into comedy? How is his acting? It's hard to joke when you think “what's wrong with airline food?” It's insulting to people who don't have taste buds.
