Rippaverse Animation Begins with The Horseman, Starring Dean CainRippaverse Animation Begins with The Horseman, Starring Dean Cain

Dean Cain is a superhero again. Not that he won't always be Superman, but he's fighting crime under a new name, and this time, it's Repowers. Today marks the start of Repowers' next comic book pre-order campaign. Horsemen: Welcome to FloresparkThe story of a street-level hero who has no powers but has honed deadly combat skills in service to his country. When Hector Lee Caballero returns home from the war, he becomes a horseman and fights the criminal underworld using the skills he learned on the battlefield. Horsemen: Welcome to Florespark comes from writer Chuck Dixon (the comic book veteran who co-created Batman villain Bane) and artist Joe Bennett (who worked on Marvel Comics such as The Amazing Spider-Man, captain AmericaAnd the incredible Hulk), And You can pre-order it here,

But this time, it's not just comic books. Ripverse is also venturing into animation, having used trailers from its previous campaigns to create a “proof-of-concept” animated pilot centered on the Horsemen – who will be played by Dean Cain. The goal is to launch “an animated universe with long-running content” under the Ripverse Studios banner that will complement the comics, which will stream on a subscription platform on the Ripverse website before eventually being distributed on other platforms, as well as physical media. That depends on getting enough paid members to the Ripverse site. 5,000 will ensure that the 10-minute first episode HorsemanWhich will be released on social media to whet people's appetite and get them to sign up as paid members of Rippaverse. 10,000 Rippaverse will allow the team to complete the first season HorsemanAvailable to paying members only. Rippaverse founder Eric July explains the details in the video below:

If you are interested in becoming a paid member of Rippaverse, You can sign up here. There are four tiers, with monthly fees of $5, $10, $20, or $50. Each tier offers a number of perks, such as free shipping, discounts on merchandise, early access to pre-orders, and more.

This is awesome. The Ripaverse is spreading rapidly, or at least, it seems so. It's been a few years, but it feels like Isom #1 just launched, and now they're developing an animated series starring Dean Cain. I liked Eric July's point that they don't want to sell the movie and/or series rights to another company – maybe they don't want Disney to make a Horsemen movie with Tessa Thompson in the lead role. And they're honest about it not being easy; maintaining the integrity of your creation isn't cheap, and thankfully the Rippaverse has been successful enough to warrant a campaign like this. And, just like in the comics, they're getting top-tier talent to play their first animated hero, the Horsemen, with 90s Superman Dean Cain.

Dean Cain is special to me because he is the Superman of my childhood. Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman It was the first TV show I watched regularly with my dad; we've seen many shows since then, but it all started with Dean Cain's Superman. In fact, I suspect today was the announcement date chosen intentionally; lois and clark debuted on September 12, 1993. (It's also possible that this was a happy accident, and I know a lot about '90s television.) This time around, Dean Cain will be playing a very different superhero, as the animated trailer makes it clear that the Horseman is perfectly comfortable killing bad guys, which Superman doesn't do. (Well, Dean Cain's Superman doesn't do that, anyway.) It would be nice to see him playing a hero so far removed from the Man of Steel, and hopefully his collaboration with the Rippaverse will be a long-lasting one.
