Even when he lost the ability to walk, he never stopped convincing us that humans can fly. Today, Warner Bros. released the trailer for Super/Man: The Story of Christopher ReeveA documentary about the life of Christopher Reeve, star of Richard Donner's 1978 superhero film Superman and its three sequels. Directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui and featuring interviews with Reeve's family and friends and vintage footage, Super/Man It's less about Reeve's stardom and portrayal of Superman, but rather about his life after an accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Super/Man: The Story of Christopher Reeve It will release in theaters on September 21, 2024. You can watch the trailer below:

Super/Man The film seems to mirror Christopher Reeve's later life, filled with grief, tragedy, hope and determination, all the things that were revealed about the man he was after his terrible accident, things that brought him even closer to the icon he portrayed on screen. Some of Reeves' quotes are devastating, such as when he lists the various things he'll never be able to do again and wonders if his family should “just let him go.” [him] It's something most of us will never understand, but the thought that your existence is a burden on your loved ones is unbearable. That Reeve was able to not only overcome that condition but turn his situation into a force for good and change, that he could fight for the welfare of others, is remarkable on a human level.

there is no doubt about it Super/Man Will devoted a lot of time to Christopher Reeve's recovery and activism, the founding of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation (which seeks treatments and cures for paralysis, spinal cord injuries and various neurological disorders) and ongoing efforts to help those living with conditions like Reeve's. I'm also interested to know what his children have to say, which sounds kind of horrific; I don't want to treat their suffering as entertainment. But it must have been horrible to watch their father go through this and I'm sure their mother had to go through hell as well. Dana Reeves – who died of lung cancer less than a year after Christopher Reeve passed away – deserves a lot of credit for what she shouldered after the accident for her husband and her children.

i like that Super/Man There are also some photos, videos, and stories from Christopher Reeve's younger Hollywood days. I remember reading a few times about his friendship with Robin Williams and how the two got along well with each other as struggling young actors. When Richard Donner tells how Reeve came on set and just became Superman, the wonder in his voice is awesome. When I was a kid, I grew up with Dean Cain's Superman; he was the one I watched every week with my dad. But Christopher Reeve was always there, the guy we all knew, even if his Superman movies were before our time, and despite that, whenever anyone mentioned Superman, everyone thought of Christopher Reeve. I would also love to get some information about some of his other, lesser-known roles, such as dangerous place, Street smartOr somewhere in Time,

Super/Man: The Story of Christopher ReeveNo matter how good it is, it will be hard to watch; there is no escaping it. When Christopher Reeve was paralyzed, the world held its breath, just as they wondered what he would do next. The tragedy of his story will squeeze out our tears again, but hopefully the resilience of the man who will always be Superman is what we will be left with most, the reassurance that nothing can destroy the man who embodies the best of the human spirit.
